Experience

Prem works as part of the Green Roof Team to create student-built green energy solutions.
As the Lead Data Engineer, Prem:
-Researches the application of Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques to optimize irrigation on a garden roof.
-Implements a microcontroller master-slave system that blends analog and digital data collection in order to gather information on soil moisture habits in a garden roof.
-Optimizes power distribution from student-built Wind Turbine towards irrigation system to create fully self-sustaining microcontroller system.
-Develops data pipelines and web interfaces to streamline and display the data collected.

Prem interned for Ingredion, a multinational ingredient provider, to analyze and improve data flow across the company.
As a Data Analyst Intern, Prem:
-Transformed a paper-based form system to a paperless-based system to improve the efficiency of plant operations through the use of Microsoft Power Apps
-Improved Data Pipelines for faster and more dynamic flow of data.
-Integrated and retooled previous SQL Server Databases to create easier opportunity for Data Analytics and Forecasting.

Prem worked with Dr. Koushik Sinha to create the Virus Contact Map, a tool that would visualize the spread of the COVID-19 Virus.
As an Undergraduate Research Assistant, Prem:
-Cleaned and manipulated various datasets using Pandas and SQL to understand researched COVID-19 strains in relation to Google Mobility Data and CDC published data
-Created easy-to-use tool for in-house researchers to upload new COVID-19 Strain Data using Flask and Javascript
-Trained and Researched Various Regression Models using Scikit-Learn to predict movement of COVID-19 Virus

Prem is part of the award-winning PBS news station, WSIU, where he works to produce shows for the greater Southern Illinois Area.
As a producer, Prem:
- Produces the award-winning show "Scholastic Hi-Q"
- Directs the award-winning newscast "River Region Evening Edition"
- Leads an entirely student-run team on a live newscast while teaching team about various roles in a television station.

Prem interned at CDW, a technology provider for businesses and government. Roles included:
-Data Analytics of client projects
-Improvement of information pipeline between CDW and clients
